Food Reserves' Complete Storable Meal Systems

T
he Food Reserves' "Complete Meal Systems" below are designed for institutional use and make use of variations of our Meatless Meats. These meal systems are available in two general versions: general institutional use and long term storage). The storable versions are more expensive because they are shipped in "super pails," prepared using CO2 flushing, oxygen absorbers, and mylar (or metal polyester) packaging material -- all of which act to lengthen shelf-life. The information that follows below includes pictures of our meals -- just click on any given picture to get a full-page enlargement.

Our meal systems (or entrees), formulated and produced by us (www.FoodReserves.com), all have the following characteristics. We feel that after reviewing these, you'll see that our meal systems have clear advantages:
  • Cost Advantage: All our entrees cost out at less than $.38 (USD), or 38 cents per meal.  We can offer such reasonable, attractive pricing because we are the actual producers of the products.
  • Easy Preparation: Grab a soup pan. All you add is water, heat... and stir. No meal takes longer than 25 minutes to prepare.
  • Great Shelf-Life: The general institutional version lasts six months to a year or more, while our storage versions are warranted to last a minimum shelf-life of 5 years. All you have to do is store our meal systems in a cool, dry environment and ensure no infestation occurs from outside the thick plastic pouches.
  • Great Nutrition: Our meals are balanced and vitamin fortified. You get a good balance of macronutrients (proteins, fat and carbohydrates) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). See the table below for specifics on each meal.
  • No TVP: Other food storage programs sell raw TVP (texturized vegetable protein). TVP's are very flatugenic (cause intestinal gas), have a strong "beany" taste and flavor, and are not that "meat-like." By comparison, Lumen Foods uses only soy protein concentrates, which not only contain more protein, but are much easier for the body to digest.
  • Light, Easy to Store & Portion-Friendly: Most other food storage programs rely heavily on canned goods. These are heavy, bulky, and take up excessive room. By comparison, the storable versions of our our meal systems are light; most 250 serving cases are under 20 pounds, and you only prepare what you need. With canned goods, whatever food you don't use within a day or two, spoils.
  • Superior Formulations: Our long-term "storable" versions are the very same formulas that we sell to U.S. state government organizations nationwide. These organizations are not concerned with long-term food storage. Government accounts purchase our meals because of their low cost, high nutrition, easy preparation, and delicious taste. Most other "food storage meals" are not good enough to exist in any other market; there is a pervasive thinking that if a consumer is desperate, they'll eat anything. Our thinking is that long term storage meals should taste every bit as good as meals you eat every day.
